Amazon’s Battlefield 1 Collector’s Edition Comes With Lots Of Goodies, But No Game

Hey, how do you fancy buying a $129.99 Collector’s Edition of Battlefield 1 that comes with all of the usual exclusive kit but with one very key difference: there’s no game included. There’s no listing error here, the Amazon page for the lucrative package clearly states “Does not include game” in the title, leaving us wondering what exactly justifies the price tag.

Similar collector’s editions for other games sold in the past have retailed at around the same price, and have featured a hard copy of the game they’re promoting, so to see it absent here is rather bizarre. With that said, this will undoubtedly appeal to PC owners who already have a digital copy of the WWI shooter pre-ordered, but still want all the cool physical items you can see above.

Full contents include:

  • Collector’s Edition statue (14″ Tall)
  • Exclusive steel book
  • Exclusive cloth poster
  • Deck of playing cards
  • Messenger pigeon tube with exclusive DLC content
  • Exclusive patch
  • Premium packaging

The listing doesn’t go into detail in regards to what the “exclusive DLC content” entails, but expect some inconsequential weapon skins or other cosmetic gear.

Battlefield 1 releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 21, and will be competing with Activision’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for the position of best shooter of 2016, although if the latter’s popularity (or lack thereof) on YouTube is anything to by, there’s already a clear leader.
