From the all-new Sqweeks to the recent addition of Onslaught, Michael Bay’s roster of Transformers is growing and growing fast.
With little under a year until Transformers: The Last Knight pulls into theaters, the director’s Twitter feed continues to be a hive of activity for those robots in disguise, and today heralds confirmation that Hound, the hulking Autobot and healer, will be making a return in the 2017 sequel.
Embedded below is the full picture of Hound, which pins the giant as a “boisterous Autobot commando,” one who seemingly always has his finger on the trigger. He’ll be rubbing mechanical shoulders with Hot Rod, Bumblebee, Barricade, Drift, Megatron and, of course, Optimus Prime.
Story details remain as sparse as ever at the time of going to press, but the first official banner for The Last Knight teed up a brutal tussle between Optimus and what appears to be a three-headed dragon. Peer closely and you’ll find a San Francisco-esque skyline, coupled with some alien megastructure that could signal a return to Cybertron – be it in the form of a flashback or full-blown space sequence.
Come June 23, 2017, Transformers: The Last Knight will herald a new era for Paramount’s CG-laden blockbuster. Thanks in part to the studio’s writers room, plans are in place for two additional Transformers sequels across 2018 and 2019, with the former rumored to be a Bumblebee spinoff.
