Margot Robbie Will Be Warner Bros.’ Queen Of The Air

Suicide Squad may not have been a very big hit with critics or fans, but it did make Warner Bros. a very nice profit. As such, it's no surprise that the studio wishes to continue their working relationship with the "so hot right now" Margot Robbie - and that's exactly what they seem to be doing.

Suicide Squad may not have been a very big hit with critics or fans, but it did make Warner Bros. a nice profit at the box office. As such, it’s no surprise that the studio wishes to continue their working relationship with the “so hot right now” Margot Robbie – and that’s exactly what they seem to be doing.

Deadline is telling us that the actress has signed on for Warner Bros.’ Queen of the Air, where she’ll star as famed 1920s trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel. Based on Dean N. Jensen’s 2013 non-fiction book of the same name, the plot details Leitzel’s “tragic romance with fellow acrobat Alfredo Codona.”

Known for her death-defying stunts, Leitzel’s profession ultimately caught up with her in 1931, when she died during a live performance. Codona, meanwhile, took his own life 6 years later.

So far, Robbie is the only one attached to the project, as no other actors have signed on, and neither has a director. With the Suicide Squad star now on board though, expect the film to attract more talent shortly.

Until it does, though, tell us, are you excited to see Margot Robbie bring Lillian Leitzel to life on the big screen in Queen of the Air?
