Though his involvement was confirmed many moons ago, a full body-shot of Megatron has now surfaced, revealing how Michael Bay’s twisted harbinger of death will appear in next year’s blockbuster sequel, Transformers: The Last Knight.

Indeed, the unveiling of Megatron is the latest robotic showcase to emerge from the film’s official Twitter account, following in the gigantic footsteps of Hot Rod, Onslaught and, more recently, Hound.

But now, the Powers That Be over at Paramount have deemed it time to swing the pendulum back in the Decepticon’s favor, this time showcasing The Last Knight‘s ruthless oppressor.

By the looks of things, Megatron will come packing a fearsome arm-mounted cannon come 2017, along with an ancient blade that could well tee up an old-school scrap with Optimus Prime himself – one that would dovetail neatly with The Last Knight theme. Granted, our fearless leader will have to cut his way through a three-headed beastie before doing so. Bumblebee, Barricade, Drift and the cutesy Autobot known as Sqweeks are also on board.

On the human side, Mark Wahlberg returns to the fray following his stint in Age of Extinction, headlining a cast of old and new faces that includes Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, and Peter Cullen.

Transformers: The Last Knight arrives on June 23, 2017.
