Motivated by the damning reviews levelled at David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, production continues apace on the London set of Justice League.
It’s on course for theatrical release in November of next year and, despite initial plans to stage a two-tier event film in the vein of Avengers: Infinity War, will be condensed into a single film. As the pieces start to fall into place, Warner Bros. has now unveiled what appears to be the final logo for Zack Snyder’s ensemble film, which is essentially the one we’ve clocked eyes on before, only brushed up with a few textures and a slick, metal sheen.
Truth be told, it’s been a rocky start for Warner’s DC Extended Universe; hopes were pinned on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice back in March, and though it pulled in close to $900 million worldwide, Snyder’s titanic tussle was widely considered to be a disappointment. And Suicide Squad – well, one need only look at those scathing reviews.
That places a fair amount of pressure on both Wonder Woman and Justice League. Strong showings at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con were enough to generate excitement, but the real questions won’t be answered until both tentpoles bow in 2017.
Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fischer, Willem Dafoe, J.K. Simmons, and Henry Cavill are among the cast for Justice League. It’s expected to arrive in theaters on November 17, 2017.
