Killing Floor 2 releases for PlayStation 4 and PC on November 18, developer Tripwire Interactive has announced. The co-op shooter, which pits you against a zombie horde that’s overrun Europe, is a sequel to the original released in 2009, and takes place one month after the events that occurred in that game.
Although there’s nothing stopping you from going it alone, Killing Floor 2 encourages up to 6 players to engage the undead threat together, as well as offering a 12-player competitive PvP mode, which separates teams into the opposing forces of humans and zombies.
A 12-player PvP mode is included, too, which sees teams of humans and zombies facing off against each other. Publisher Deep Silver has provided a rather bleak description of the current state of affairs (via VideoGamer), and you can check it out below:
In Killing Floor 2, players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union.
Just one month after the events in the original Killing Floor, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding.
Of course, for those of you on PC, Killing Floor 2 has been available to play through Steam Early Access for quite some time. The final version will launch alongside the PlayStation 4 release, and will be available both digitally and physically.
