Guardians Of The Galaxy Star Benicio Del Toro Spotted As The Collector, But What For?

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has said a number of times that Benicio Del Toro won't return as The Collector in next year's Vol. 2, but has the filmmaker been caught in a lie? Possibly, because some new paparazzi photos doing the rounds (which can be found over at Mail Online) show the actor once again rocking the character's stark white hair.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has said a number of times that Benicio Del Toro won’t return as The Collector in next year’s Vol. 2, but has the filmmaker been caught in a lie? Possibly, because some new paparazzi photos doing the rounds (which can be found over at Mail Online) show the actor once again rocking the character’s stark white hair.

However, before you get too excited about the prospect of seeing the eccentric Elder of the Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there are a couple of things worth taking into account.

For starters, Gunn is well known for being extremely honest with fans, and while he often stops short at confirming or denying rumours which will spoil the Marvel movies, he’s always been truthful when stating cold, hard facts. So, does that mean Del Toro could be shooting something for Doctor Strange or Thor: Ragnarok? It’s possible.

The second thing to remember is that it was revealed during Comic-Con that The Collector will be part of the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride coming to Disneyland California next summer, so chances are that the Star Wars Episode VIII actor was actually just shooting something for that.

For now, it seems as if we’ll have to wait and see, but be sure to stay tuned for more updates on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as we’ll keep you posted when they arise.
