Whimsical RPG adventure game Earthlock: Festival of Magic has been confirmed to be part of September’s Games With Gold line-up over on Major Nelson’s blog. Having been in “full production for the last four years,” developer Snowcastle Games is clearly attempting to splice the traditional JRPG with a Western aesthetic, with the gameplay trailer (above) released over the weekend immediately evoking comparisons with the older Final Fantasy and Harvest Moon games.
Describing the background and setting of the upcoming indie title on Xbox Wire, editor-in-chief Will Tuttle says that Earthlock “starts as a simple quest, but develops into an involved journey.”

Launching September 1 on Xbox One priced $29.99, current Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download Earthlock: Festival of Magic for free throughout the month alongside three other, yet to be announced Games With Gold titles due to be revealed next week.
