Hugh Jackman Says Goodbye To His Mutton Chops As Wolverine 3 Wraps Shooting

The X-Men franchise will reach an end of an era next year when Hugh Jackman bids farewell to perhaps the series' most iconic character in Wolverine 3 (which is rumoured to be titled Wolverine: Weapon X). Not much is known about the movie as of right now, though Patrick Stewart has a leading role, so we know it takes place in X-Men: Days of Future Past's new timeline.

The X-Men franchise will reach an end of an era next year when Hugh Jackman bids farewell to perhaps the series’ most iconic character in Wolverine 3 (which is rumoured to be titled Wolverine: Weapon X). Not much is known about the movie as of right now, though we’ve heard that Patrick Stewart has a leading role, so we know it takes place in X-Men: Days of Future Past‘s new timeline.

Past rumours have also pointed to Wolverine 3 adapting “Old Man Logan” and introducing X-23, so it’s pretty obvious that Logan is going out with a bang as Jackman moves on from the role which made him a household name since his first appearance as the clawed mutant way back in 2000’s X-Men.

As part of his goodbye to this part of his life, the Australian actor has today shared a video on Twitter showing him shaving off Wolverine iconic mutton chops for the very last time.

Shooting recently wrapped up in New Mexico, so it probably won’t be too long until we start getting to see some official material from Wolverine 3 (there has, after all, been plenty of set photos doing the rounds in recent months). Until then, it’s safe to assume that this is the last time Jackman will have to shave off those mutton chops.

Then again, he could very well be talked into reprising the role somewhere down the line after Wolverine 3. Stranger things have happened…
