Civilization VI, the latest release in the long-running strategy franchise, is getting a very tantalizing (and very limited) special edition to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary, developer Firaxis Games has announced. Just 20,000 units of the lucrative $89.99 package will be made available worldwide, so you’ll want to get your order in now if you hope to secure yourself a copy.
Loaded with several neat exclusives over the standard edition, those that nab themselves a copy can look forward to the likes of a Civilization “Through the Years” hardcover art book, an exclusive 25th anniversary commemorative coin set (with display case), a digital soundtrack and bonus in-game content, including access to four post-launch DLC packs.
“We’re happy to announce the Civilization VI “25th Anniversary Edition,” a custom bundle designed to celebrate the incredible legacy of Firaxis Games’ strategy series as well as the latest installment (sic) in the series,” says Firaxis, adding that “We’re only able to produce this physical bundle in a limited quantity, so act now to secure yours before it’s too late!”
Civilization VI launches worldwide on October 21 for PC and Mac. With the developer at the helm being the very same studio that released XCOM 2 earlier this year, we’ve got very high hopes for the next game in the tun-based strategy series.
