New Co-op Mode For Evolve Launches Today

Developer Turtle Rock Studios has released Deepest Dark, a brand new co-op mode for Evolve Stage 2.

As announced last month, Evolve, the multiplayer-focused shooter from developer Turtle Rock Studios has been re-released as a free-to-play title, and the game has seen a surge of players flocking back to hunt down monsters. Today, Turtle Rock Studios (via a press release) has announced the next step in their plan to revitalize Evolve; a new co-operative mode.

While gamers could play alongside (and against) AI enemies in the past, these opportunities were simply a part of the game’s existing modes, which allowed us to swap in live gamers for AI. Evolve’s newest mode, titled ‘Deepest Dark’, is a “co-op operation” of sorts, shying away from the traditional 4v1 formula the game was built on.

“At the start of the operation, the Hunters are greeted by an ominous voice setting the scene and alluding to the events that have led to the Queen of Gorgons taking over a Wraith containment facility and the surrounding area,” the press release details. “As the team makes their way to the Queen’s lair, they’ll face hordes of infected wildlife and Gorgon minions that spawn from the Queen’s eggs. Can the Hunters survive and take down the Queen of Gorgons to uncover why she’s on Shear?”

You can check out Deepest Dark as part of Evolve Stage 2, which is available now on PC.
