Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience Launches October 13, Includes Two Games And DLC

Konami has announced Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, a compilation package that includes both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, as well as a generous helping of DLC.

Officially revealed via the publisher’s website, the release date for all platforms is pegged for October 13 this year and, along with offering a sizeable amount of single-player content with both titles, The Phantom Pain’s multiplayer element Metal Gear Online will also be included.

All three components of the so-called Definitive Experience will come with all DLC released as part of special pre-order bonuses or direct add-ons in the past, including the likes of additional missions for Ground Zeroes and an armory’s worth of weapons, costumes and crafting items for the Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Online.

Despite series creator Hideo Kojima having split with Konami last year to pursue new projects, the latter certainly appears to have no intention of putting the stealth series to rest. In addition to confirming this year’s combo package, Konami announced Metal Gear Survive at this year’s Gamescom to the surprise of many.

Pitched as a co-op multiplayer shooter, Metal Gear Survive takes place in the time gap between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, putting the player in the role of a Mother Base soldier who’s found themselves in a rather troubling situation.

Konami will no doubt share more details on that bizarre spin-off throughout the rest of the year, but for now, Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience looks to be the major talking point. The bundle will retail at $49.99.
