In the season two finale of The Flash, Barry Allen travelled back in time and stopped the Reverse-Flash from murdering his mother. The fallout from that decision will be felt when the show returns to The CW this October thanks to the creation of a brand new timeline which has been dubbed “Flashpoint.”

The new status quo will only last for a few episodes, but you can bet your life that the ramifications will be felt for a long time. That’s something which is evident from these first official images from the premiere as we see the Reverse-Flash behind bars and Wally West speeding into action as Kid-Flash.

After all, it’s hard to imagine Wally not remaining a hero when things go back to normal in The Flash, while we already know that Eobard Thawne will be a villain in Legends of Tomorrow.

Regardless of what the future has in store for these characters though, this episode looks great, and it’s going to be fascinating seeing just how much of his world Barry has changed by making that one fateful decision. He’s clearly happy to have his parents back, but will he be willing to sacrifice all that to get his old life with Iris, Joe, and the rest of Team Flash back?

That remains to be seen for now, but stay tuned for more details on what’s to come in The Flash ahead of its return on October 11th.
