Resident Evil 4, 5 And 6 Now Available On Xbox One And PlayStation 4

Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 are now all available to buy in physical and digital form on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Capcom has announced. All three titles come in at $19.99 each, and include all their respective post-launch add-on and bonus content, so if you missed out on the bonus Separate Ways campaign absent from the original GameCube release of Resi 4, here’s your chance to enjoy the definitive version.

With the latter half of the Resident Evil series now sitting comfortably on current-gen consoles alongside remastered versions of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0, this is the closest we’ve ever gotten to being able to enjoy the entire main series on one device. Of course, the absence of Resident Evil 2, 3 and Code Veronica is obvious, but all the first two would require far more work to bring them up-to-date for a modern audience than just a simple port or updated resolution.

As luck would have it, Capcom is currently in the process of developing a complete remake of Resident Evil 2, so assuming it makes its way to both consoles, that will at least fill-in one gap.

The real question is, which one should you play first? For the sake of chronological order (assuming you’re new to the series) and quality, the only possible answer is Resident Evil 4. Even today, it stands up as a bonafide classic, and while Resident Evil 5 didn’t quite garner the same reception, it’s still very much an enjoyable experience, especially in co-op.

As for Resident Evil 6… Well, you’ll probably want to read this before you buy that one.
