If you’ve been waiting patiently for the Battlefield 1 beta to become available, then you’ll be glad to know that the wait is finally over. As of right now, EA has publicly released the open beta for the gameFollowing a ‘soft launch’ yesterday, which limited the beta to Battlefield Insider members, the game’s beta is now available to all, assuming you have a system to play it on.

While EA and DICE are not supporting last-generation consoles this time around, anyone with a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or a (capable) PC will be able to give the game a go. If you do happen to be playing on Xbox One (or you plan to), make sure you have an active Xbox Live Gold membership, which is a requirement to play online during the game’s beta period.

Featuring the Sinai Desert map along with the Conquest and Rush game modes, the multiplayer beta does not feature any content from the single player campaign, which has remained largely under wrap. As of the time of writing, neither EA or developer DICE has made any mention of an end date for the beta, but based on past multiplayer testing, we expect it to run for a week or so, give or take a few days.

For those looking forward to the full retail release, you’ll be able to pick up Battlefield 1 when it launches later this year on October 21st.
