Michael Bay may currently be watching the money roll in from his latest flick, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, but that doesn’t mean he’s not already thinking ahead to his next project. Speaking to MTV, he revealed that he’s working on a film called Pain & Gain, a dark comedy inspired by Pulp Fiction. With a budget of only $20 million, it will interesting to see how it turns out, considering Bay is known for his big budget blockbusters.

Inspired by a true story, the film will look at “extortion and abductions in the criminal underworld of Florida.” It certainly doesn’t sound like anything he’s ever done before and it could be interesting to see the director stepping out of his comfort zone and giving us something totally different from what we’re used to.

Of course, Bay was also asked about Bad Boys III to which he responded, “We talk about it. It’s hard to get our schedules together but it’s great working with those guys.”

Not a lot to go on but at least it’s nice to know that it’s still a possibility. While I’d rather Bay focus his efforts on reuniting with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, Pain & Gain does sound intriguing. It’s an odd choice for Bay but who knows, it could work out.

What do you think? Would you rather see Bay do Pain & Gain or focus his efforts on Bad Boys III?
