The Force is strong in Pyramid International.

Three months out from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the outlet has premiered a batch of beautiful artwork for Gareth Edwards’ Anthology film (via Hey U Guys) that essentially offers up a fresh look at the questionable heroes and menacing villains populating the upcoming offshoot.

Chief among them is, of course, Jyn Erso, the “reckless, aggressive, and undisciplined” drifter portrayed by Felicity Jones. Recruited by Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) to spearhead a clandestine mission against the Galactic Empire, one that centers on the formidable Death Star, Jyn Erso is very much the driving force behind Edwards’ hotly-anticipated picture and, in true Star Wars fashion, her father Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) will prove instrumental in the overarching story.

That’s a narrative through line that was merely teased ahead of the arrival of a new Rogue One tie-in novel. Entitled Catalyst, the book also casts some light on the origin story behind Ben Mendelsohn’s glowering Director Orson Krennic, who will surely be familiar with our heroine Jyn Erso once the action gets going in earnest.

Speaking of which, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is booked in to arrive on December 16. It’s the second entry into Disney and Lucasfilm’s rejuvenated franchise that’s poised to steer fans back in time to a galactic era between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Come 2017, Rian Johnson will circle us all back to the other end of the timeline with the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
