Now that Margot Robbie has carved out some downtime from Task Force X and the role of Harley Quinn – one that never fails to attract rampant fanfare across the four corners of the Internet – the Suicide Squad star can shift focus to more drama-oriented fare.

Before stepping onto the ice ring as the disgraced figure skater for Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya, Robbie will soon headline Vaughn Stein’s noir thriller Terminal as Annie, a “dynamic” character that becomes the center of attention of two duelling hitmen.

Ramping up the noir sensibilities, The Hollywood Reporter has today lifted the lid on our first look at Robbie in the femme fatale-like role, staring intensely at the camera with cigarette in hand. Little is know in terms of plot, but THR does hint that Robbie’s Annie is more involved in the case at hand than initially thought. Could she been masking traits of a killer? We’ll find out in due time. Simon Pegg, Max Irons, Mike Myers and Dexter Fletcher flank Margot Robbie on the casting docket.

Coming off the blockbuster brace of The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad, next up for Margot Robbie is Terminal for Vaughn Stein. It’s currently without a release date, though, falling into the same bracket as some of Robbie’s other projects – i.e. Goodbye Christopher Robin, I, Tonya and Bad Monkeys. Don’t forget that the actress will also circle back to the superhero genre via a possible Harley Quinn spinoff movie and, barring a sudden change of heart, a Suicide Squad sequel.
