With inspired concept art littering the interwebs, it’s no secret that anticipation for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has resulted in a feverish, pent-up demand for the release of the sequel’s first trailer. It’s a matter that James Gunn himself weighed in on via that ever-popular Facebook feed of his, politely asking fans for a little patience as the debut snippet is cut together.

Basically, it’ll land sometime before Christmas and when it does, it seems Marvelites – and moviegoers all across the globe – will be in for a treat. Chatting to Toronto Sun regarding his swashbuckling role in Sony’s redo of The Magnificent Seven, Chris Pratt touched base on Gunn’s spacefaring sequel – a sequel that he firmly believes could be “the biggest spectacle movie of all time.”

High praise, of course, but Pratt begins by championing the “fabulous script” at the core of James Gunn’s 2017 blockbuster, before stating “it’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.”

Those in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con back in July will have already clocked eyes on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in motion, and you only need to dig out some impression pieces to discover that maybe – just maybe – Chris Pratt could be on to something. Whatever the outcome, if the Internet was already pining for that first trailer, Pratt’s comments will surely send that anticipation into overdrive.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is earmarked for launch on May 5, 2017. There’s already chatter concerning a third installment, with Aerosmith frontman currently lobbying to be involved in the yet-to-be-confirmed follow-up.
