Meet Maui and Moana – Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho, respectively – Disney’s brand new and seaworthy heroes. They’re poised to light up the silver screen in November, and co-directors Ron Clements and John Musker currently have all hands on deck in anticipation of the film’s theatrical release.

But thankfully, we won’t have to wait until November to get a new look at Moana in action; Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter to not only unveil a vibrant new poster for the Disney adventure, but also to confirm that he’ll be dropping by Good Morning America on Thursday, September 15 with a new trailer in tow.

Arguably marking his first family-oriented feature since Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, it’ll be interesting to see how Johnson takes to working out of the voice booth. His character, Maui, is billed as a flamboyant demi-God, which sounds about as crowd-pleasing as they come. Jam-packed with gregarious tribe leaders and self-absorbed crabs, the lush world of Moana also stands as an enticing appetizer ahead of the actor’s work on the 2017 Jumanji sequel.

Yes, Zootopia may have come bearing an entire metropolis filled with eccentric, memorable characters, but Moana is no slouch either. Flanking Johnson and Cravalho are Jemaine Clement (Tamatoa), Rachel House (Gramma Tala), Temuera Morrison (Chief Tui), Nicole Scherzinger (Sina) and Rogue One star and Disney Animation Studios’ good-luck charm Alan Tudyk as Heihei, a dumb rooster that also happens to be the village idiot. Lin-Manuel Miranda, star of Hamilton and, soon, Disney’s Mary Poppins sequel, is on board to orchestrate the score.

Moana will dock in theaters come November 23. For a fresh look at the adventure Clements and Musker have been cooking up, check back to We Got This Covered on Thursday, September 15 when we’ll have full coverage of the movie’s second trailer.
