Gotham City is a metropolis known for many things – a sound judicial system isn’t one of them. In the absence of policing and general law abiding citizens, corruption is rife among Gotham’s First Families and in the latest episode of Batman: The Telltale Series, Bruce Wayne circles back to where it all began by attempting to solve the mystery behind the death of his parents.

As today’s reveal trailer attests, it’s a task that proves difficult even for the World’s Greatest Detective, and the sophomore installment of Telltale’s brooding series is already shaping up to be a doozy. Entitled Children of Arkham, those first screenshots confirmed the appearance of Joe Chill, Blockbuster, and Oswald Cobblepot (AKA The Penguin), who will star opposite Troy Baker’s Caped Crusader and Laura Bailey’s Catwoman.

Here’s the official synopsis, per Telltale:

With Gotham City’s first family mired in corruption, and an old friend now a dangerous adversary, the life of the Dark Knight is turned upside down. What was Thomas Wayne entangled in, and why was he killed? Determined to learn the truth about his father, Bruce sets out to question those involved in Gotham’s criminal past. But which mask will he wear – The billionaire, or the bat? Huge decisions will forever change the Batman and the lives of those around him, as he meets the Children of Arkham.

Nipping at the heels of the launch of Telltale’s Seasons Pass disc for Batman: The Telltale Series – those in the UK can expect the comprehensive package to debut on Friday, September 16, priced at £25 – Children of Arkham will premiere for PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 20. We’ll inform you if and when Telltale details release plans for additional platforms, Android and iOS included.
