Justin Timberlake And Anna Kendrick Cover “True Colors”

With only a month and a half left until Trolls releases nationwide, music is going to get much more colorful. The soundtrack to the film will be out next week, and it boasts an exciting track listing filled with songs from stars of the movie. Justin Timberlake’s summer smash, “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” will obviously be on it, but he’ll also be a part of a few duets like “What U Workin’ With?” with Gwen Stefani. One of the duets debuted today, and it’s a collab with Anna Kendrick covering “True Colors.”

“True Colors” is sadly not a cover of Zedd, but instead, a cover of the 1986 Cyndi Lauper single – that’s not too bad, either. The track kicks off with a light acoustic guitar as Timberlake’s vocals are introduced, before Kendrick joins him in the first pre-chorus. The duo’s voices complement each other beautifully throughout the song, and the addition of strings mid-way through is just icing on the cake. All in all, it’s a respectable cover and does the original justice.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake’s cover of “True Colors” is just yet another highlight of his return to making music this year. You’ll get “True Colors” – both the album version and the film version – and much more on the Trolls soundtrack when it comes out on September 23rd.
