To commemorate the first million copies of their artist magazine TOILETPAPER, Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari are gearing up to re-release Daft Punk‘s seminal mid nineties hit “Da Funk” with a limited edition gold vinyl via The Vinyl Factory.

“Da Funk” is a notable entry in Daft Punk’s iconic catalogue, serving as the robot duo’s first taste of success. Released in 1995, “Da Funk” set in motion the staples of the French DJ act’s highly influential sound with its marriage of catchy synth bass and punchy four on the floor rhythms, and both the song and its accompanying Spike Jonze directed music video went on to become classics of 90’s electronic dance music.

The re-release of “Da Funk” will be limited to a scant 1,000 units, so you won’t want to sleep on grabbing your own copy. The new vinyl will feature both “Da Funk” and “Teachers” from Daft Punk‘s debut album Homework, and will be available via The Vinyl Factory and TOILETPAPER for the costly sum of around $65. It’s a high price to pay for a mere two songs, but collectors will probably be driven to pick up the release anyways.
