If our first look at John Wick: Chapter Two found Keanu Reeves’ one-man reign of terror dressed to kill, new pics surfacing online today draw attention to Wick’s new canine companion.
Now, we know what you’re thinking – new dog, same fate? It’s impossible to tell at this early stage, nor how big a part this pitbull actually plays in Chad Stahelski’s 2017 sequel. Judging by this pair of photos, Wick’s newfound partner does at least feature in one battle, seen here trotting alongside his scarred master on the Brooklyn Bridge. The other pic, one that finds Reeves in that sharp suit once again, finds our hardboiled hero scoping out potential targets in a nightclub.
It’s difficult to tell whether that second image was taken in New York, too, but fans can rest assured in the knowledge that John Wick: Chapter Two is an international affair – one that almost inexplicably crams in twice as much action as the first, according to Stahelski.
“I would say we had twice as much action as the first movie,” he says about the shoot. “We took it all a full notch up as far as the driving car stuff went. A great portion of the car chase in the opening of the film is Keanu, which is very impressive.”
Rome is another pitstop on John Wick’s globetrotting journey. When a shadowy international assassins’ guild comes under threat, Reeves is forced to make tracks for the Italian capital to do battle with some of the most powerful and dangerous killers in the world. No biggie, right? Also on board for the white-knuckle ride are Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Common, Peter Stormare and Thomas Sadoski.
On February 10, 2017, Lionsgate and director Chad Stahelski will invite the Baba Yaga/Boogeyman back out to play when John Wick: Chapter Two lands in theaters.
