Seven cards, including four from the Classic set, one from last year’s The Grand Tournament and two from the more recent Whispers of the Old Gods expansions have been labelled by Blizzard as deck entries that are currently so powerful that they’ve become ‘must-picks’ for almost every deck archetype for which they can be selected.

At the top of the nerf list, and the one that’s bound to cause the most controversy among all types of players is Yogg-Saron, Hope’s End – a Legendary 10 Mana card that casts a random spell for every one used by the player across an entire match. With Blizzard seemingly intent on reducing the amount of luck-based decks currently present in Standard format, Yogg is a prime candidate for receiving changes. From the moment the changes go live, the Old God will no longer continue to cast spells if, at any point, he leaves the field by death, removal or transformation.

Other cards receiving small changes in order to reduce the amount of aggro in the game are Abusive Sergeant, Rockbiter Weapon, Charge, Call of The Wild and Tuskarr Totemic. For the full list of changes, you can head over to the official post here. How much of an impact these changes will have on the current meta remains to be seen, but reducing the amount of randomness in any given match can only be a good thing.
