The Flash returned to The CW tonight, and while it didn’t exactly adapt the “Flashpoint” storyline fans know from the comic books, it did deliver a very intimate and interesting tale which has still shaken up the show’s status quo in a major way moving forward.
Realizing that he had no other choice than to allow the Reverse-Flash to kill his mother in order to return things to how they used to be, Barry went home only to discover that Joe and Iris no longer have any sort of relationship. As a result, we’re left to wonder how much else has now changed, and the promo above does a great job of teasing that.
For more on what to expect from this episode of The Flash, here’s the synopsis for “Paradox.”
Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and is surprised by Julian’s immediate disdain for him. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.
While things may be back to “normal,” it’s evident that a lot has changed. Not only that, but now we have several nagging questions, like who is Cisco grieving for and where does Dr. Alchemy fit into season three? We may start getting the answers to those questions as soon as next week, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising if the show takes its time rolling out these big new changes.
