Alesso Enlists K-Pop Singer Chen For Another Rework

Last week, Alesso released a new version of his hit "I Wanna Know" with Nico & Vinz, teaming up with Taiwanese pop star Jolin Tsai to replace the Norwegian duo on vocal duties. In the wake of that remix, the Swedish music sensation has now linked up with another Asian vocalist to recreate one of his classic tunes, this time teaming up with K-Pop star Chen for a rework of his 2015 song "Years," which originally featured Matthew Koma.

Like the Jolin Tsai flip, Alesso’s new version of “Years” opts to retain most of the familiar production elements while making a few minor adjustments, including trimming down its runtime. Chen serves as a fitting replacement for Matthew Koma with his soaring vocal delivery inserted into the uplifting tune, and he even injects some Korean language verses into the song. The new shortened time frame for “Years” allows more of the production to focus on the pop hooks, cutting out some of the extended dancefloor build ups in favor of a more concise structure.

Alesso‘s latest rework with Chen serves as a worthy update for “Years,” leaving us to wonder which of his songs the producer will revisit next.
