Much like Titanfall 2 before it, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is primed to host a couple of betas split across two consecutive weekends.

The first of which will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 owners, as per Activision’s content partnership with Sony that kicked in with the launch of Black Ops 3 last year, and will run from October 14-17. From there, it’ll expand for Xbox One users the following weekend, meaning all players on current-gen systems can enjoy a vertical slice from October 21-24. As previously announced, the technical test won’t be available on PC platforms, likely due to the numerous graphical and performance-related settings still to be tweaked.

We do, however, have an understanding of what to expect from the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta test, and this blistering new trailer showcases that content in action. Played out across three multiplayer maps, it’s really the addition of the Combat Rigs – a complex focal point of Infinite Warfare‘s online component – that will pique the curiosity of long-time fans. Warfighter, Merc and Synaptic are the three that can be selected from Friday on PS4.

Here’s an overview of the trio of maps:

Frontier – Frontier is a small section of a giant space station that is in orbit around the planet Neptune. The action is funneled down a long, central corridor with side paths offering an element of strategy and a constricted lower lane for players craving chaos.

Frost – A research facility set atop the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa. Ample opportunities for vertical combat and rapid encounters around sleek modular elements highlight this frozen battleground.

Throwback – This throwback 1950’s ‘Main Street USA’ locale sits on a giant, rotating, torus-shaped space station. A large circular lane rings the perimeter, while a large center square with multiple avenues of approach and two opposing windows offers a wide range of engagement opportunities.

“We like to keep it simple – kill or be killed.” Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will host its public beta first on PlayStation 4 come October 14. Xbox One users can then jump into the action alongside their PS4 companions from October 21, lending you ample time to take Infinity Ward’s far-future shooter out for a spin before its official launch across all platforms – PC included – on November 4.
