Rockstar’s Red Dead Revolver Now Available On PlayStation 4 With Trophy Support

Before wowing everyone with its critically acclaimed follow-up Red Dead Redemption in 2010, Rockstar's first foray into the Western front - Red Dead Revolver - was laying the first foundations for what was to come. The original may not have set the world on fire like its successor did six years later, but Red Dead Revolver, while dated, is still a genuinely enjoyable experience in 2016.

Before wowing everyone with its critically acclaimed follow-up Red Dead Redemption in 2010, Rockstar’s first foray into the Western front – Red Dead Revolver – was laying the first foundations for what was to come. The original may not have set the world on fire like its successor did six years later, but Red Dead Revolver, while dated, is still a genuinely enjoyable experience in 2016.

Whether you missed it the first time around or fancy a replay, Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Revolver is now available to download through the PlayStation Store for $14.99, with the studio promising “full 1080p up-rendered visuals.” In addition to that, fans can look forward to the integration of modern features such as “trophies, Shareplay, Remote Play, Activity Feeds and Second Screen support for game manuals with PS Vita or PS App.”

Originally released for PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004, Red Dead Revolver began life as a Capcom-published title being developed by the then Angel Studios. Rockstar subsequently acquired both, renaming the latter as Rockstar San Diego.

Back to the present day, and we’re still waiting for a Red Dead Redemption 2 to come around. Despite several supposed leaks and rumors suggesting that the sequel was close to an official reveal, Rockstar has kept fairly quiet about its future plans.
