First Beta For Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare On PS4 Affected By Matchmaking Issues

Activision has responded to the matchmaking issues found in the PS4 beta for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

As promised, the first of two beta tests for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare booted online yesterday, opening up an early build of Infinity Ward’s far-future shooter for those on PlayStation 4. But a handful of players have ran into teething problems, particularly when trying to find a match online.

At the time of writing, the most recent post from Activision’s dedicated Twitter feed acknowledges the matchmaking hiccups, asking fans to stayed tuned for further updates. One glance through the account’s numerous replies will tell you that for many the problems continue to persist, though a follow-up post on the publisher’s blog does note that “some players are able to start a match by exiting and restarting the game.”

Per Twitter:

Scheduled to run through until Monday, October 17, it’s unclear if Infinity Ward will choose to extend the beta to compensate for the matchmaking problems. After all, when you consider that beta access was limited to those who pre-ordered Infinite Warfare, it’s understandable that shooter fans on PS4 have been left frustrated. Surely Activision will have rolled out a fix by the time the second beta weekend rolls around, which will be available on both PS4 and Xbox One from October 21. Much like Titanfall 2 before it, there are no plans for an early PC build.

We’ll keep you updated on all the latest Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare information as this story develops, so be sure to stay tuned for more.
