Last night’s installment of Marvel’s flagship TV series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., began to tie some of the plot strands that were established in the first few episodes of the season together. A seriously injured Quake was reunited with Simmons, and the pair set about trying to discover what The Watchdogs were up to, while we finally saw Ghost Rider interact with some of the other main characters – and nab himself that signature flaming chain while he was as it.
The promo for next week’s episode, “Lockup”, brings all of the players together for what looks to be an action-packed mission to break into a maximum security prison. It also seems like Robbie’s quest for vengeance is finally going to lead to some answers regarding the origins of the entity inhabiting him (we know there’s an episode dedicated to that coming up soon), and that Darkhold book could also pave the way for the introduction of many new mystical elements to the series.
The final few shots of the teaser show Daisy engaged in combat with one of the prisoners, and the de-powered Inhuman looks to be in serious trouble. The show has been teasing another big change for the character as well and there are theories that she may eventually undergo another form of Terrigenesis. If that’s true, it could take a traumatic experience such as this to push her into the final stages.
