The CW has released the first promo for next week’s episode of Arrow, and in it we get a first look at what’s to come when Oliver Queen decides to try and break Diggle out of a military prison. As we saw in tonight’s instalment, the hero has been wrongly placed behind bars after being set up for an illegal arms deal orchestrated by his superiors, and the net is now closing in.

Interestingly, the Green Arrow finds some opposition to his plan from his own team, and in the video above, we see them attempt to take their mentor down. The chances of them being successful seem slim in all honesty, but seeing as Oliver’s relationship with them is already pretty tumultuous, this could very well be the straw which breaks the camel’s back.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but for more on what to expect from this episode of Arrow, here’s the official synopsis:

Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) team up on a secret mission for Diggle (David Ramsey). Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) finds out and disapproves of the plan and opts to stay behind. When Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman) launches a deadly assault against the city, Felicity must decide if she wants to send the recruits out sans the Green Arrow. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Brian Ford Sullivan & Oscar Balderrama.

Season 5 of Arrow has so far been excellent, and a vast improvement on the past couple of years. A big part of that stems from the fact that Oliver has a team of new recruits, but it will definitely be good to see Diggle back at Oliver’s side, especially as it should be an awful lot of fun seeing how he gets on with the group of young heroes the Green Arrow has assembled.
