Although light on gameplay, this latest trailer does a good job of demonstrating the jump from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In the brief clip, we see forests, villages and snowy mountains as they will appear in the remaster. It may not look as good as Bethesda’s most recent release, Fallout 4, but for a five year old game, it looks pretty damn good.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with Skyrim: Special Edition, allow Bethesda to explain just what this re-release brings to the table.

Epic fantasy. Stunning details. Winner of more than 200 Game of the Year Awards. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim returns with Skyrim Special Edition, available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 28. Along with the critically acclaimed game and add-ons, Skyrim Special Edition has all-new features such as remastered art and effects, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, volumetric god rays, and more.

As recently reported, Skyrim: Special Edition for the PlayStation 4 will not only support mods, albeit in a limited capacity, but will also have 4K support for the PS4 Pro. While the mod support does not match Bethesda’s support on Xbox One and PC, it’s still somewhat of a relief that all gamers can have some access to the feature. I am interested in seeing how the title looks on the Pro, considering, again, that this is a five year old game getting the remaster treatment.
