With a November 14 production start looming large, Reservoir Dogs-esque thriller Unchained has cast three A-listers in Adrien Brody, John Malkovich and Antonio Banderas.

Word comes by way of Deadline, revealing that the trio are on board to play career criminals that fast become their own worst enemies during a routine gig. Upon scoping out a warehouse, their characters eventually become trapped in the cavernous building with only an attack dog called DeNiro for company. The law is closing in, too, and Unchained is said to feature a series of narrative vignettes designed to explore “love, fear and conditioning and all the wrong turns that have put them in the dog house, fighting for their lives” Writer-director Paul Solet (Grace) will direct from his own script, with Yariv Lerner, Les Weldon, Milos Djukelic and Rick Benattar headlining the jam-packed roster of producers.

As for those newcomers, Antonio Banderas was part of Terrence Malick’s ensemble for Knight of Cups, and has the one-two punch of Security and Salty in 2017. After getting his hands dirty for Deepwater Horizon, John Malkovich will next be seen in Supercon, Zak Knutson’s comedy that follows a group of has-beens that descend on their old stomping ground in time for the latest convention. And finally, following a series of shorts, Adrien Brody has lined up Lee Tamahori’s wartime epic Emperor.

Unchained, meanwhile, is all set to enter production on November 14 ahead of a theatrical release in 2017. We’ll be bringing you all the details as more information comes to light, including whether that canine heralds a potential cameo from Robert De Niro himself.
