November 1 will mark the arrival of the first two DLC maps for Gears of War 4, developer The Coalition has announced. Checkout and Drydock, which are “two of the most popular Gears of War Legacy Maps,” will make their debut for the latest entry in the shooter series next week for season pass holders, and a week later for everyone else on November 8, whereupon they’ll be free additions to the public playlist.

Until the universal release, both maps will be available to play in the season pass-only Developer Playlist, with Versus Dodgeball and Arms Race modes for squads up to three to duke it out. If you’re more of a player vs. enemy type of person, then you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear that both battlegrounds will also be available in Horde mode, albeit, only in Normal difficulty.

For a quick teaser of both maps, see the fly-through videos provided by The Coalition above or, alternatively, see the description for each below.

Checkout

Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department.

Drydock

Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrapyard on a Seran mudflat, this fan favorite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes.

For a sneak peek of future Gears of War 4 content, Microsoft says to check its blog on November 1 to see the playable versions of Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike and EL-P in multiplayer and Horde. For our own review of the third-person shooter, see here.
