Production continues apace on the New York set of The Defenders, and as the Marvel ensemble series begins to come together ahead of its planned 2017 premiere, the studio has announced Elden Henson (Foggy), Eka Darville (Malcolm), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth) will reprise their respective roles next year.
Much like confirmation of Simone Missick and Deborah Ann Woll’s casting, word hails from The Defenders‘ Twitter feed, where a second “The Strong Survive” video assembles those familiar faces. It’s impossible to tell how big their roles will be in Marvel and Netflix’s superhero extravaganza, though considering the show will only stretch for eight episodes in total, we fully expect Henson, Darville and Moss will adopt smaller roles once New York is plunged into chaos (again).
One cast member that will have a fairly significant scene is Missick, whose Misty Knight can be seen confronting the Jessica Jones in today’s wave of set photos. Talk about ballsy.
Pulling together to combat Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain, there are precious few story details available for The Defenders at this time, with the official logline revealing that a “quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.” Daredevil, Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist are the fantastic four that will be locking horns with Weaver come 2017.
