A new open casting call for Marvel’s Black Panther has gone out, and while it doesn’t reveal anything outright, some of the specific background characters they’re looking to cast might just give us an idea of what to expect from one certain aspect of the story.

Here’s the breakdown courtesy of SMTV Reports:

The casting calls makes it clear that it wants African men, women, and children to fill out the area of Wakanda, the homeland of Black Panther himself. The call also notes that for the Filipino and Korean men and women are for street scenes. For the CIA agents it wants people of all ethnicity with real world weapon history to play them. The call also notes that the work involved for all will range from January to February of next year.

The Wakandans are expected of course, but the CIA agents are very interesting. When T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) made his debut in Captain America: Civil War, he began by working alongside Government agents to bring Steve Rogers and The Winter Soldier in. However, when he discovered the truth about his father’s death he also realized that Bucky was not the man responsible, and the post-credits scene revealed that he had, in fact, offered aid to his one-time enemy.

This obviously won’t sit well with Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and co., and the presence of the CIA in Panther’s upcoming solo outing suggests that he’ll return to the US at some point – or, they’ll travel to Wakanda in an attempt to bring him to justice. That’s not the only explanation, but it does seem the most likely one.

Black Panther also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker Daniel Keluuya and Winston Duke, and is expected to commence production in January ahead of a February 16, 2018 release.
