Thankfully, the developer’s on hand to answer that question, having today released a new side-by-side graphics comparison video for all three titles running on the PS3 and PS4. There’s no mistaking it – each title looks noticeably prettier running on PlayStation 4, and while the improvements aren’t as drastic as, say, Resident Evil‘s transition from GameCube to current-gen, they’re certainly more than acceptable.

Besides the texture and resolution improvements, more subtle changes such as improved lighting (sunlight can now be seen reflecting off of buildings, for example) are present, too. In addition to all of the above, the most obvious change is the brighter color pallete given to everything. Gone are the washed-out greys and pastel shades of the originals, replaced instead with more high contrast shades.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection comes to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18 and includes all single-player DLC. Multiplayer won’t be included. As for a brand new entry in the series, you could be waiting a while – Ubisoft says a sequel to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate won’t come along until 2017 at the earliest.
