Captain America: Civil War Concept Art Shows Off Alternate Spider Signal Designs

In Captain America: Civil War's after-credits scene, Peter Parker discovers that Iron Man has left him a surprise in one of his web-shooters when his bedroom is suddenly lit up with the Spider Signal. In the comic books, Spider-Man used that to announce his presence to criminals, but this hi-tech version will seemingly help the hero out in other ways.

In Captain America: Civil War‘s after-credits scene, Peter Parker discovers that Iron Man has left him a surprise in one of his web-shooters when his bedroom is suddenly lit up with the Spider Signal. In the comic books, Spider-Man used that to announce his presence to criminals, but this hi-tech version will seemingly help the hero out in other ways.

We’ll have to wait until Spider-Man: Homecoming to learn more about that, but some new concept art from Captain America: Civil War has found its way online today which offers a look at some alternative designs. Created by Perception (a VFX company that’s worked on a number of Marvel movies), one of them in particular is very interesting.

As you can see in the gallery above, they at one point imagined that the Spider Signal would have had a message from Tony Stark to Peter Parker telling him, “swing by the tower. Got some new upgrades you should see.” Why that was removed was hard to say, but it was clearly meant to point to the relationship between these two continuing to grow.

Robert Downey Jr. looks set to reprise the role of Iron Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, so we’re going to see more of them together regardless, but this definitely would have made Captain America: Civil War‘s after-credits scene even more exciting had it been left in, don’t you think?
