Though the solo movie has been hit with setbacks, Ezra Miller has been bigging up The Flash and, in particular, what it was like to don the costume.

It’s fair to say that The Flash hasn’t hit the ground running in the way Warner Bros. would have hoped – creative differences forced both Seth Grahame-Smith and Dope director Rick Famuyiwa out of the project – but don’t be fooled into thinking that Ezra Miller’s enthusiasm for the upcoming solo movie has waned.

Likening the backroom changes to a “tragic relay race,” Miller has been vocal about all things Barry Allen from the off, and while chatting to Yahoo Movies in anticipation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the actor once again gushed about the Scarlett Speedster and, in particular, that “thrilling” experience of pulling on the superhero duds for the first time.

Per Yahoo:

“I’ll tell you that donning the Flash suit is one of the single most thrilling experiences I’ve ever known,” Miller said. “You know it’s like a samurai getting in his armor. Every day, I just felt like, so cool. It’s the greatest. I really love playing the Flash. I love Barry Allen. I really, I’ve come to, yeah, I’ve come to really hold a special place in my heart for this neurotic but altruistic individual.”

Further in the interview, Miller then spoke more about his ongoing research, a process which involves taking a deep dive into The Flash‘s comic book archives to properly get a feel for the character’s nuanced history.

“I’m just so excited to explore him and explore that for as long as possible,” Miller continued. “Even if it just means, [reading comic books]. Honestly, it’s an incredible gift to the world, the long history of the Flash. I feel so lucky to be a part of these great stories.”

As things stand, The Flash is tentatively slated for release on March 16, 2018. Look for Ezra Miller to reprise as the Scarlett Speedster when Justice League checks into theaters on November 17, 2017.
