After that electrifying new preview dropped a couple of weeks back for xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, we now have another new look at the film arriving in the form of an international trailer. This one, however, takes the focus off Vin Diesel and instead shines the spotlight on his co-star, Ruby Rose.
It’s a shorter preview than what came before, but it’s no less exciting, as we’re treated to a montage of some explosive action scenes showing off the Australian actress looking totally badass in the role of sniper Adele Wolff. We don’t know very much about her character just yet, or how heavily she’ll factor into things, but if Paramount is dedicating an entire preview to her, we imagine that she’ll be important in xXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
From the official plot summary, we learnt that Diesel’s Cage will need to recruit an “all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts” to help him put an end to a deadly conspiracy. So perhaps Rose will be one of the people that Cage recruits to help him? That seems like the most probable bet, but at this point, we still can’t say for sure.
[zergpaid]What we do know, however, is that the next chapter in the explosive franchise is promising to deliver some of the “most mind-blowing stunts ever to be caught on film.” A bold claim, to be sure, but given the footage we’ve seen so far, we have no reason to doubt it. We’re not expecting xXX: The Return of Xander Cage to arrive packing much depth or character development, but when it comes to larger than life action and jaw-dropping stunts, we have complete faith that it’ll deliver.
I Am Number Four‘s D.J. Caruso is the director at the helm here, presiding over an eclectic cast that includes Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, Toni Collette, the returning Samuel L. Jackson, Tony Jaa, international footballer Neymar Jr., Nina Dobrev and Andrey Ivchenko as the film’s chief antagonist.
