Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year. While Disney isn’t expecting it to do quite the same numbers at the box office that its predecessor The Force Awakens did, it’ll still perform extremely well for them. As such, it’s no surprise that a number of other studios are looking to piggy back off of Gareth Edwards’ Anthology film.
Not too long ago, we told you that Marvel will be premiering the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming in front of Rogue One, and now it looks like Paramount is hoping to do the same, as Michael Bay took to Facebook recently to announce that the first look at Transformers: The Last Knight will be arriving with Disney’s upcoming Star Wars movie.
[zergpaid]Presumably, it’ll appear online a few days before that, but for now, December 16th is the date to mark on your calendars, folks. After all, when it comes to something like Transformers, you’re really going to want to see the preview on the biggest screen possible. Granted, we’ve already seen bits and pieces of The Last Knight thanks to some set videos and featurettes, but this will be our first proper look at it, and we can hardly wait.
We’ll be the first to admit that Paramount’s larger than life series isn’t exactly a shining example of depth when it comes to plot and characters, but no one can deny the sheer spectacle that each Transformers film is and if nothing else, they do make for some damn good entertainment – if you can just shut your brain off and enjoy what’s going on. The series certainly has its critics, but when it comes to pure blockbuster action, it’s hard to top the robots in disguise.
Transformers: The Last Knight will hit theatres on June 23rd, 2017 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Anthony Hopkins, Isabela Moner, Stanley Tucci, John Goodman, John Turturro, and Josh Duhamel. It’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the franchise, too, what with both a Bumblebee-centric spinoff earmarked for June 8, 2018, before Paramount courts viewers back to the core timeline with a sixth mainline installment on June 28, 2019.
