The first real trailer for the upcoming eighth season of Entourage is now here, featuring the song Fast Lane, from rap duo Bad Meets Evil (Eminem and Royce da 5’9″). We saw a brief teaser last week but it didn’t reveal any footage. This time we actually get a look at what to expect from the final season as we see what Vince and company are up to.
From the looks of the trailer, Vince is out of rehab and working on putting his past behind him, he’s even written a script for his brother. Johnny is hard at work on his cartoon series with Andrew Dice Clay and E and Scott are trying to make the most of their new found partnership. Ari is trying to win back the wife and Turtle looks like he’s still trying to find a suitable venture.
Familiar faces like Billy Walsh and Sloan also appear in the all too brief clip and despite the short length (only eight episodes), season eight looks like it will wrap things up pretty well.
Entourage has been one of television’s top shows for years now and I’m really hoping that the writers have something special in store for the final season. It will be sad to see the show end but we do have the much talked about Entourage film to look forward to.
Admittedly, the show has been lacking a bit over the past few seasons and it would be a real shame if season eight continued that trend. Seeing the show go out on a down note would be tough, especially after all the good years it has had.
I think both the writers and HBO know this and they realize that they need to please long time fans, which is why I think season eight will be a great conclusion to a fantastic series.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. Will Entourage go out with a bang?
The final eight episodes of Entourage will premiere on HBO on July 24th
