New Photo Confirms A Big Comic Book Moment For Carl In Sunday’s The Walking Dead

The last time we saw Carl in The Walking Dead, he was hiding out in the back of one of Negan's supply trucks. As fans of the comic books will know, that culminates with the youngster gunning down some of the villain's men before he's apprehended by the baseball bat wielding psychopath and given a tour of his home.

The last time we saw Carl in The Walking Dead, he was hiding out in the back of one of Negan’s supply trucks. As fans of the comic books will know, that culminates with the youngster gunning down some of the villain’s men before he’s apprehended by the baseball bat wielding psychopath and given a tour of his home.

Eventually, Negan forces Carl to remove his eyepatch and makes him sing him a song. The whole thing is extremely disturbing, and when you take into account the fact that the TV version of Negan is even more evil than his comic book counterpart, this Sunday’s instalment of The Walking Dead becomes all the more exciting.

Thanks to the episode’s title – “Sing Me A Song” – and the fact that a new photo has been revealed today featuring Carl without his eyepatch, we’re starting to get a bit of an idea as to what we should expect. What’s underneath the patch remains to be seen, but it certainly doesn’t look good, and in The Walking Dead comics, Carl actually abandons it after this moment and proudly displays his war wound.

The Walking Dead has so far lifted a lot of Negan moments directly from Robert Kirkman’s series, so it will be interesting to see just how closely the episode sticks to that. Either way, we pretty much know for sure now that at least one iconic moment from the source material will make it onto the small screen this Sunday.
