A few months back, we got a brief, but tantalizing look at James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It was an exciting glimpse of one of 2017’s most anticipated films, but understandably, it left fans wanting more. Thankfully, the director promised that we’d get another trailer towards the end of the year, and tonight, he’s delivered.
Set to air on ABC during the ACC Championship game, this new preview of the Guardians’ second outing teases a wild ride for our heroes, as they embark on an adventure that looks set to be just as enjoyable as their last one was. Complete with a rocking soundtrack and some exciting action scenes, not to mention all the humor you’d expect (the trailer is seriously funny), this new preview shows off the film in all its gleeful glory, sporting the same vibe that its predecessor did – which should ensure that we’re in for one hell of a good time.
Admittedly, this trailer, like the last one, is holding back quite a bit (read: all) of the plot, but that was to be expected. After all, Gunn has said in the past that Marvel wouldn’t be showing off too much of the story before the film hits theatres. While that may disappoint some, we’re perfectly alright with it. Remember, the studio has been guilty of spoiling too much in the past, so we’re glad to see them holding their cards close to their chest this time around.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will whisk moviegoers off on a whole new adventure on May 5, 2017.
