In a bid to compete with Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, BBC Radio 1 has just unveiled an enticing residency lineup for 2017 featuring superstar producer deadmau5. The announcement comes during a fertile period for the Canadian musician, who just released his new LP W:/2016Album and and announced the Lots Of Shows In A Row tour.

BBC Radio 1’s Residency show features a revolving lineup that sees some of the world’s biggest dance music DJs sharing the decks on Thursday nights, with each artist getting a few hours to spin whatever music they feel like playing. Along with deadmau5, 2017’s lineup will also include Eats Everything, Metrik, Jessy Lanza, Helena Hauff and more.

2016’s lineup included big names like Oliver Heldens and Steve Angello, but BBC has outdone themselves in getting deadmau5 to participate. We’ve seen him hold down his own radio show in the past with Mau5trap Presents, and he’s definitely an artist who knows how to craft a solid mix.

Stay tuned for BBC Radio 1’s Residency show in 2017 to hear deadmau5, Eats Everything and more drop the beat.
