As you can see in the trailer above, this Saw (also voiced by Forest Whitaker) has not sustained the injuries which left him hobbling around and gasping for air in Rogue One, but he’s every bit as extreme in his views when it comes to stopping the Empire and that’s something which looks set to put him at odds with the Star Wars Rebels team. As of right now, Saw is only expected to appear in the two-part premiere on Disney XD, so we don’t know whether or not it’s here that we’ll see how he was injured or if that’s something the show is saving for somewhere a little further down the line.

What’s interesting is that this trailer uses footage which didn’t actually make Rogue One‘s final cut, as we see the character uttering a dire warning most fans previously assumed must have been directed at Jyn Erso. Here, it looks like it may pertain to his own bleak future, but we’ll just have to tune into Star Wars Rebels on January 7th to find out.
