Don’t Knock Twice Trailer Finds Katee Sackhoff Fighting A Witch

Mother and child horror films aren't hard to find, especially these days. The Babadook might be the best of the bunch in recent years, but there's still Goodnight Mommy, Lyle the Carrie remake, Prevenge and now, Don't Knock Twice, starring Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff, which will bring witches and evil spirits into the equation.

The premise is simple enough: a guilt-ridden mother (Sackhoff) tries to save her estranged daughter (Lucy Boynton) from an apparent curse from a vengeful witch, which terrorizes and haunts them, in the vein of Candyman or The Ring. But with its unsettling imagery, disturbing visuals and jarring editing, Don’t Knock Twice — not to be confused with Mike Birbiglia’s Don’t Think Twice from last summer, which is a completely different movie— certainly looks promising. We hope to say the same when it enters theaters, whenever that might be in the United States.

Directed by Caradog James (The Machine), the British horror film is written by Mark Huckerby and Nick Moran. It’s certainly not Sackhoff’s first dip into the genre, either, as she’s also starred in Oculus, Ghosts of Georgia and Riddick. Is this the start of a new trend? It certainly looks like it.

Don’t Knock Twice comes to UK cinemas on March 31st. Hopefully we’ll find out when it arrives on these shores in due time.
