Mark Wahlberg Talks Emotion And Humor Of Transformers: The Last Knight As New Still Arrives

A new TV spot and still image for Transformers: The Last Knight have found their way online, while Mark Wahlberg has spoke about the film's "emotion."

Among its approximately massive 2017 preview, USA Today has premiered a moody still for Transformers: The Last Knight. If moving pictures are more your thing, don’t fret; there’s also a brand new TV spot to peruse up above.

Entitled “Worlds Collide” the promo culminates with that shocking battle scene between Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, in which the latter draws his sword against his long-time ally. The Last Knight‘s marketing campaign has been teasing the fall of an icon, but there’s surely more going on here than meets the eye.

As for the picture, it features both Mark Wahlberg, who first appeared as Cade Yeager in Age of Extinction, and franchise newcomer Laura Haddock as Vivian. Equipped with climbing equipment, the two are seen here exploring a cavernous opening, which could well hold ties to the Arthurian story beats of Transformers: The Last Knight. When quizzed about his character of Yeager, Wahlberg discussed the creative freedom that Michael Bay affords, before reflecting on the film’s strenuous action scenes.

Per USA Today:

It’s not as cool as it would be had I been 25. At 45, it’s all pretty strenuous, but I really like that Michael gives me freedom to make the character my own, improvising and bring a lot of humor and elevate the emotion.

Transformers: The Last Knight checks into theaters on June 23, 2017 and when it does, it’ll simultaneously act as a soft reboot of the series and a platform on which Paramount will construct a handful of spinoff movies, with a Bumblebee film potentially earmarked for 2018.
