Like many actors before him, True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer’s been bitten by the directing bug. He’ll make his feature film directorial debut with The Parting Glass, a dark family drama which will give him another chance to work with Anna Paquin, who’s set to star in the film.

Details are limited at the moment, but The Parting Glass‘s logline tells us that Moyer’s upcoming film will follow a grieving family following the death of a sister. From there, they’ll collect the remnants of her lost life as they attempt to paint a portrait of her existence. It doesn’t exactly sound like the most uplifting material then, but it’s got us intrigued nonetheless.

In addition to Paquin, the film is also set to star Ed Asner, Cynthia Nixon, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans, Paul Gross and Denis O’Hare, who wrote the screenplay. Paquin will produce The Parting Glass alongside Moyer and it’ll be housed under their CASM Films banner.

While the project will serve as Moyer’s first feature behind the camera, the actor previously directed a handful of True Blood episodes – so he’s got some experience. It’s a shame that we won’t see him share the screen with his wife, but we’re happy to see him back in the spotlight regardless, as he hasn’t done a ton since HBO’s hit show took its final bow in August of 2014.

Tell us, are you looking forward to seeing Moyer and Paquin work together again on The Parting Glass? Sound off down below and weigh in with your thoughts!
